However, we found ourselves stopping in front of something different.
It wasn’t a yacht.
It wasn’t a new technology.
It was a completely different way of experiencing the sea.
That’s how we met Antonio Lacchini and Emanuele Passarelli, the creators of Opera Viva, a nautical photography project that transforms the sea into stories, memories and art.
We are used to telling the story of the sea through navigation.
Through boats, performance, design and the freedom you feel once you leave the harbour behind.
Opera Viva starts from the same sea, but follows a different course.
In the world of nautical photography, it does not simply tell what you see.
It tells what you feel.
Not only boats or seascapes.
But details, atmospheres, gestures and moments that often go unnoticed.
Each image captures a precise moment and transforms it into something that can last over time.
A memory.
A story.
An emotion.
The project tells the story of the sea through a collection of nautical photography works created using techniques and materials that become an integral part of the narrative itself, transforming every image into a unique piece.
That is why our encounter at the boat show felt so natural.
Because, in the end, everyone who loves the sea speaks the same language.
Some cross it.
Some build it.
Some photograph it.
And then there are those who can transform it into something that remains.
